2009 was a ripe, warm year for us. We experienced rain at the end of the harvest, but it only refreshed the vines and the grapes. These two wines represent all of the ripe-- but not fruity--character of the vintage. They are both leathery, intensely animal wines:

100% whole-cluster syrah, all fermented in puncheon with foot-treading - 2009 TENBRINK VINEYARDS BABYLON
amarone-like but utterly dry Petite Sirah; also pucheon-fermented.
The wines in this selection are all ready to drink; each can also mature at least for another 10 years. They are youthful, but none is unapproachable.
